about

This song came about when Chris Nelson connected with The Organizers of the Million Woman March 20th Anniversary Committee. Chris was on the committee as an organizer and as "Musical Director" of the Anniversary Band called "The Arkestra." It was on October 29, 2017 where he met Baba Abiodun Oyewole of "The Last Poets" after performing together on stage in Philadelphia at The Celebration. A few years later in the year 2020, Chris and his Executive Producer Samantha Hollins we're talking on the phone one day about connecting with The Ancestors and writing a song about it. That's when he teamed up with Brotha Aikeem Aikill, to work on the project for his up and coming Piano Album. By this time, Chris and Abiodun stayed in touched with each other for a while. Chris & Samantha thought it would be a great idea to ask Baba Abiodun to be apart of it? He agreed and gave Chris his blessing by gracing the microphone recording his words of wisdom, bringing forth the right energy that the track needed in order to get Chris's point across about giving honor towards all of the Ancestors that made transition recently as well as in the past. This song was completed in June of 2020 and now its being release in May of 2021. That's the story of how this track came into existence.

Chris Nelson Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Singer/Songwriter/Pianist Chris Nelson was that choir boy in church, that child who had to take piano lessons and practice five times a day when he rather go out and play. Some call on him to be their music director, many call on him to be their music teacher, and others call on him to be their musician/producer, but God called on him to be known as Chris Nelson the complete entertainer. ... more
